This mold-like fungi live on the dead tissues of your skin, hair and nails causing an itching sensation. Ringworm gets its name from the raised rings that form on your skin.
Contracting ringworm occurs most commonly from person to person contact. It’s extremely contagious, so avoid touching any infected areas on another person. You can even contract it from cats or dogs.
