There’s only so much that mascara and an eyelash curler can do to amplify your lashes. Sometimes, your lashes just aren’t naturally as long, full or dark as you desire. Want another way to intensify your eyes? Latisse® is an FDA-approved treatment that can grow and thicken your lashes.

What is Latisse®?

Latisse® is a prescription in-home eyelash treatment that grows fuller, longer and darker lashes. The solution is applied once nightly with results starting to show in as little as four weeks. Full growth should be achieved in 16 weeks. It is often used to treat hypotrichosis, a condition characterized by too few lashes.

How does it work?

The active ingredient, bimatoprost ophthalmic, is what makes lash growth possible. It is believed to affect the growth of hair in the anagen (growth) phase by increasing the length of this phase and increasing the number of hairs that grow.

How do I apply Latisse®?

Before applying Latisse®, make sure your face is completely clean of makeup and any facial care products. You should also take out contact lenses if you wear them. You will then prepare and apply your applicator as directed by your doctor. The application will always go on the base of your upper lashes. Lastly, you will blot any excess and dispose of the applicator.

Is Latisse® right for me?

Latisse® is safe for most people to use, but those with conditions such as sensitive allergies or glaucoma should take caution and consult with your optometrist before using Latisse®.

If you’re interested in using Latisse® to get better lashes, call our MediSpa today at 865-342-5823 to set up an appointment or talk about getting a prescription.
