There are lots of different bathing products available to buy. Sometimes, it is hard to decide with product is the best for your skin. It is tempting to buy whichever product has the most appealing scent at the time, but how do you determine what product is really the best and what the difference is? Read on to see the pros and cons of body wash and bar soap.
Body wash
Pros- Body wash can typically work for almost any skin type because of the combination of ingredients it is composed with. The hybrid of both synthetic and natural ingredients prevents body wash from leaving a residue on the skin while still providing a boost of hydration.
Cons- The gentle nature of liquid body washes may boost hydration in your skin, but can make the wash not as effective at removing dirt, oils and odor from your body. If you have acne prone skin, or a hard time with body odor, you want to choose an antibacterial bar soap instead.
Bar soap
Pros- Bar soaps are often more effective at removing dirt, oil and odors because of the components they are made of. Containing sodium lauryl sulfate and other antibacterial products, bar soaps are often the best way to get your skin clean.
Cons- The antibacterial products in bar soap often cause skin to dry out. If you have naturally dry skin, you will want to consider a moisturizing body wash instead.
