November Celebrates National Healthy Skin Month

November 10th, 2011
Knoxville Dermatology Group

November has been designated as National Healthy Skin Month by the American Academy of Dermatology and it’s a good time to think about giving your skin a little extra attention. Did you know that most people don’t see a dermatologist until after they have experienced skin problems? This probably isn’t the best practice. It’s actually smart to see a board certified dermatologist before you are dealing with any type of problems because this allows you to form a relationship with your medical provider and gives him or her a chance to get to know your skin.

A board certified dermatologist, like the ones on our team here at Knoxville Dermatology Group, will help you to identify any skin issues you might have as well as talk about your concerns and address them with an individually tailored skincare regimen.  While for some it might seem like a hassle, caring for your skin is a daily investment you can make towards your total health. Many common skin issues can be avoided with a proper amount of time and attention to your skincare routine.

From ways to properly clean your skin to methods of treating it and options of different products, you can speak to your dermatologist and explore how to best meet your skincare needs together.

In the month of November, we encourage anyone looking to improve the quality of his or her skin to make an appointment with a member of our team. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate your beautiful skin than by learning more about caring for it and we’d be honored to be part of that process.

Whether your skin is in great shape or you need a little help with an issue, we’d love to hear from you. Schedule an appointment today with one of our board certified physicians to gain more knowledge about your skin so it can reach its fullest, healthiest potential.
