Noticing Your Pores?

No one can completely eliminate the appearance of pores. They’re the opening for our body to release oil and sweat. For this reason, people with naturally oily or combination skin types are more likely to have larger pores. However, there are multiple precautions you can take to reduce the size of them.

The first step is to know your product. There are a few ingredients that are more helpful than others when it comes to cleaning your pores out. Magnesium and zinc help restore oil balance, which lessens the appearance of pores. Rosemary and lavender prevent pores from enlarging. Another word to look for is noncomedogenic. The definition of noncomedogenic is “formulated to not block pores.”

Have a special event to get to later? Washing your face is a quick solution to keep pores from expanding. A clay mask can gently remove extra oil from congested pores, too.

Remember, pores are good for your body’s oil release. They can be minimalized, but there is no way to eliminate the appearance completely. Contact a dermatologist to discuss the proper ways to take care of your skin by visiting knoxderm.com or calling (865)690-9467.
