It’s Football Time in Tennessee

With 6 home games this season, we have a lot of tailgating ahead of us. This past weekend’s first game had plenty of UT Volunteer fans outside playing corn hole, trying new homemade recipes and cheering for our boys and Coach Jones. We’ve kept to our summer skincare routines and feel ready to show off our golden tans and our orange apparel. But the cooler weather doesn’t mean we can ditch the SPF.

SPF should be a part of our daily skincare routine rain or shine, summer or winter. You may feel like easing up on sunscreen now that you are decked out in your UT gear instead of being in a swimsuit, but the sun’s rays can burn your skin even through your clothes. It is important to apply sunscreen whenever you spend more than 15 minutes outside. This means applying it before you tailgate or walk to the stadium, no exceptions.

As the weather cools, start transitioning your skincare products to cream-based moisturizers and cleansers. You may even want to step up your exfoliation routine, but not to anything more than twice a week. It is important to change your skincare routine as the weather changes but applying moisturizers with SPF should never change. And don’t forget your lips!
