Don’t forget to drink water!
We are continually reminded of the importance of staying hydrated in the warmer months. It’s much more difficult to remember to drink 64 ounces a day during the winter. Sweat goes unnoticed under clothing and drinking to cool down is no longer the first thing on our minds – the cold is. When standing in the cold, the last thing you want is a glass of water to cool your body temperature down. However, water is just as important in the winter as it is in the summer.
Hydration is a key player in your skin’s health. Water is beneficial to the body’s tissue, organs and cells. The skin is the largest organ in the body, made of millions of cells, and is therefore made up of water. If your skin loses its hydration, it will start to appear dry, tight and flaky. Dry skin can also be unsightly or uncomfortably itchy.
