Enjoying the Holiday with Beautiful Skin

The holiday season is a time for giving and a time for cheer. Our hearts are filled with love and joy and our bellies are filled with goodies and treats. But our skin is depleted of moisture. This year we want you to enjoy the holidays, and we want you to do it with beautiful skin.

Hot humid summer days are sometimes unbearable, but boy does your skin miss that moisture in the winter. Not only is the weather outside dry, but when we turn on heat during the cold months our skin dries out even more. We’ve mentioned before and we will say it again, skin-care begins and ends with a good moisturizer. Is expensive better? No. The key is finding a moisturizer that works for you.

We’ve found that oil-based moisturizers work better than water-based ones in the winter. The oil creates a protective barrier on the skins that helps to better retain moisture.  Avocado, mineral, and almond oils are best for the face. They aren’t too greasy and won’t clog your facial pores.

Once you’ve purchased the right moisturizer, focus mostly on application to your face, hands, and feet. These areas get the most wind and weather exposure and if left untreated may be most uncomfortable if too dry.  With your beautiful skin, you’re now ready to enjoy the season of parties, gatherings, and family reunions.

When traveling, be sure to pack a few important things – moisturizer, sunscreen and gloves to protect hands. With these things, you and your skin will survive the most joyful and most chilly season of the year!
